Monday Momentum:: Plateau is OVAAA!!!

Wooohoooo!!!  Thank you 21 Day Fix!  The 7 week plateau is over and I couldn't be more excited!!  I'll be honest, I did sneak a peak mid week and saw that the scale did move, but then came the weekend.  The weekend is always difficult for me because  we like to eat out with friends and the boys.  This weekend, even though we ate out a few times, we still tried to make healthier choices and with the food that we was not healthy, we used major portion control!!

I lost 2.4 lbs!!!

This goes to show that all calories are NOT created equal!!  I am still in the same target calorie range as I was before; HOWEVER, I am eating more vegetables and protein, and less carbs and fruit.  Now I eat three servings of fruits and carbs (each) while before the fix, I was probably having about 4-5 servings of each a day.  And now I am eating four servings of vegetables and proteins (each), while before I was only eating, at best, 2 servings of each.  Some days, I struggle getting in all my veggie servings.  I never thought I would say that I am struggling trying to eat all the food that a weightloss plan has for me! I'm eating cleaner as a result and it really is easy to follow.

I've also been pairing the Fix eating plan with the 30 min workout program.  The speed of these workouts are completely different from what I am used to.  I am a cardio junkie!!!  I love Shaun T's T25 and Chalene Johnson's Turbo Fire HIIT!!  The 21 Day Fix mixes light weights in with the cardio workouts.  One morning this past week, my husband looked over and said, "We aren't moving very fast, but I'm sweating like crazy!" That's because we are doing more controlled exercises targeting certain muscle groups each day!!  I can already tell that the Fix is going to play a major role is progressing me to my next goal of getting leaner and toned.  I'm seeing and feeling change after just 1 week on the program.

I would love to talk about your fitness goals and find the right program to help you achieve them!!

This day 5 was actually day 6. Clearing counting is an issue towards the end of the week!  ðŸ˜œ

She Ate What??

Paleo, clean eating, raw vegan, grass-fed, no hormones, etc. : We all see the up and coming new philosophies of eating healthy and along with that, you'll see some pretty crazy combinations too.  Today was perusing Pinterest (the death trap of the mind and time), I saw "Chia Pudding?!" What??  I haven't had pudding in FOREVER and now it's a "healthy" thing?! I remembered my boss had mentioned something to me about it a few weeks ago, so I figured I'd check out the recipe and see just how crazy it was.  Well call ME CRAZY because I had all of the ingredients on hand. I mixed it up and a couple hours later, I tried it. It was REALLY GOOD! It will definitely be added to my clean treats!! Here's the recipe:: Chocolate Peanut Butter Chia Pudding 3/4 cup Almond/Coconut milk (you can use your milk of choice here) 3-4 tbsp of chia seeds (I recommend 3 until you decide that you want it thicker) 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp PB2 (if using natural nut butter...

Happy 3rd Blog-aversary!!

It's been three (3) years to the day since I began blogging.  I've taken a LONG break lately as I have had many transitions in my life.  But in the past few weeks, I've been considering sharing more about the next stage of this journey called life with you all. In three short years, I have gone from motivating others to experiencing weight gain and depression.  Being delivered from said depression and fighting to lose the weight.  I'd say sometimes in life, motivation shows up in the difficult times and then sometimes it's no where to be found-- a bit of a roller coaster really. And about a year ago, I was tired.  Tired of not getting enough sleep, tired of the structure and I needed a break.  This break cost me about 20 lbs and goodness has it been tough to get my mind right again.  But I'm experiencing life!!  Enjoying the moment!  And making memories with my family and friends that have been so good for my soul. And in this season, ...

Monday MOMENTUM:: Where should you start??

One of the biggest questions that people have when wanting to get healthy, loose weight or change their lifestyle is normally:: where do I start?? Some like to go cold turkey with a lifestyle change. And sometimes people can keep this up while others will fall back into the same old habits with little chance of recovering.  One thing that I have tried to stick with this year that has been different than my weightloss journey in the past is making small changes. Small changes will add up and before you know it, your lifestyle will be rapidly changing.  This year, it was when I really felt GOOD inside, that I wanted to consistently change my lifestyle. In the beginning, it really is like a detox!!  Think about how much processed food(like) junk you are consuming!!!  You wouldn't put maple syrup in a car and expect it to work like gasoline?!!!  It's  the same thing with our bodies. They weren't/aren't made to be given tons of chemicals that look like food....
