It's here!! The first day of the holiday season that can potentially throw us into a tailspin. This year tell yourself (OVER AND OVER), "not me, not this year!"
Give yourself that affirmation EVERY time you are tempted with candy and foods until New Year's!
Now, I'm all for a cheat meal! So if you have planned it right and tonight is the night, then go for it; however, if not, don't let it take you off the course you've set for yourself.
A few tips that will help::
>Drink your Shakeology while Trick-or-Treating! It will satisfy your sweet tooth and keep you full when you are normally famished, because there is no time to eat after getting home from work and wrestling your kids into their costumes.
>Drink as much water thoroughout the day as you can! This also has a lasting effect and will help keep you fuller. Many times when you "feel" hungry, you are simply dehydrated.
>Make the commitment to burn off whatever you eat!! Refer to the picture below to decide whether it's really worth it to eat all that candy.
>Walk your children around the neighborhood instead of driving. Take a stroller or wagon if your children can't walk as far as they will need to.
>When the children go to bed, put the candy away and "Go to your room!!" Brush your teeth and drink a full glass of water. Starting on the pile of candy when your kids aren't watching doesn't mean the calories won't count!!
>Stay active with your children in the days after Halloween. Let's be real; your children will get TONS of candy and you want them to be able to enjoy some. It is completely up to you how much you allow day by day. Make it fun and have them earn their candy in the days after Halloween. But don't be a drill sergeant. Do fun exercising games with them and the prize for finishing is a piece of candy. This way they aren't sitting down in front of the TV and mindlessly eating (and neither are you!).
What if you have a bad night? Don't beat yourself up over it! I've got a FREE challenge group starting Saturday and you can join! The only stipulation with this one is that you say "YES!" I'm super excited to be able to offer a free group this month!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
I leave you with little brother, in all his glory, throwing the most epic tantrum while trying to get ONE nice picture of the boys together this week. (It didn't happen, Whomp Whomp!!)
