Monday MOMENTUM:: Where should you start??

One of the biggest questions that people have when wanting to get healthy, loose weight or change their lifestyle is normally:: where do I start??

Some like to go cold turkey with a lifestyle change. And sometimes people can keep this up while others will fall back into the same old habits with little chance of recovering.

One thing that I have tried to stick with this year that has been different than my weightloss journey in the past is making small changes. Small changes will add up and before you know it, your lifestyle will be rapidly changing.

This year, it was when I really felt GOOD inside, that I wanted to consistently change my lifestyle. In the beginning, it really is like a detox!!  Think about how much processed food(like) junk you are consuming!!!  You wouldn't put maple syrup in a car and expect it to work like gasoline?!!!  It's the same thing with our bodies. They weren't/aren't made to be given tons of chemicals that look like food.

Here are some of the ways I have started and continue to work of changing my lifestyle. Now, don't think that it isn't a struggle; I am still a "work-in-progress."

But it's like I posted in one of my challenge groups this morning::
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...

Dr. SeussOh, The Places You'll Go!

We know what to do! And we know how to do it!  It's just up to us (YOU!) to make the choice to change!!  YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!

Start these small changes today:::

1. Drink TONS of water!!!
-- most of the time when you may seem hungry, your body is just signalling for water!  Whenever you feel hungry (or not!) drink a glass of water. If you don't like the taste of plain water, try infusing your water with fruit and herbs. Pinterest is a great resource to get ideas of water infusing combinations.

2. Change your snacks to fresh fruit/veggies and a healthy fat like almonds.
- my morning snack was a small salad with fruit and 2 tsp of rasberry vinaigrette. It was refreshing and delicious!!

3. No More Fast Food-- redefine it actually.
-My snack pictured above was around 100 calories, filled me up and took maybe 5 minutes to make with two little boys at my side.

Start avoiding fast food at all costs. It will do nothing but sabotage all of your hard work!!   Even pick other cheat meals in the beginning-- try a steak, sweet potato and salad! Or yummy froyo. Don't feel guilty about your cheat meal. Schedule it and schedule to get right back to your meal plan the next day.

Use these 3 tips to start your momentum this week!!  If you feel like you've already blown it, don't wait until next Monday to start a "diet!"  Change your lifestyle and it will change and flow with your daily routine!!  It will be challenging but I will guarantee you that it will be worth it. Because YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!

She Ate What??

Paleo, clean eating, raw vegan, grass-fed, no hormones, etc. : We all see the up and coming new philosophies of eating healthy and along with that, you'll see some pretty crazy combinations too.  Today was perusing Pinterest (the death trap of the mind and time), I saw "Chia Pudding?!" What??  I haven't had pudding in FOREVER and now it's a "healthy" thing?! I remembered my boss had mentioned something to me about it a few weeks ago, so I figured I'd check out the recipe and see just how crazy it was.  Well call ME CRAZY because I had all of the ingredients on hand. I mixed it up and a couple hours later, I tried it. It was REALLY GOOD! It will definitely be added to my clean treats!! Here's the recipe:: Chocolate Peanut Butter Chia Pudding 3/4 cup Almond/Coconut milk (you can use your milk of choice here) 3-4 tbsp of chia seeds (I recommend 3 until you decide that you want it thicker) 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp PB2 (if using natural nut butter...

Happy 3rd Blog-aversary!!

It's been three (3) years to the day since I began blogging.  I've taken a LONG break lately as I have had many transitions in my life.  But in the past few weeks, I've been considering sharing more about the next stage of this journey called life with you all. In three short years, I have gone from motivating others to experiencing weight gain and depression.  Being delivered from said depression and fighting to lose the weight.  I'd say sometimes in life, motivation shows up in the difficult times and then sometimes it's no where to be found-- a bit of a roller coaster really. And about a year ago, I was tired.  Tired of not getting enough sleep, tired of the structure and I needed a break.  This break cost me about 20 lbs and goodness has it been tough to get my mind right again.  But I'm experiencing life!!  Enjoying the moment!  And making memories with my family and friends that have been so good for my soul. And in this season, ...
