Refresh Complete!

Exactly one year ago, I decided to do a three day cleanse that Beachbody had just launched.  It was a key tool in breaking my addiction to diet soda and I lost some weight too, which was awesome.  As I've shared lately, in the past four months, I gained ten pounds after maintaining a comfortable weight (the enjoy whatever/whenever lifestyle) for over a year.  This has been a tough thing to wrap my mind around.  How did I go from balanced to imbalanced without even noticing until the weight was there?  Have you ever found yourself in a similar situation?

So after failing to tighten the reigns on my own, I decided if the Refresh could break an establish soda addiction, then it could help me again.  And luckily, I found a local coach that had one on hand, so I didn't have time to back out of it :)
Last time, I completed two days at work and one day at home; this time one day at work and two days at home which was a little more difficult since the boys love snacking and all things delicious.  Day 2, after picking them up after work, I asked big brother what he wanted for dinner and, surprise surprise, he wanted pizza.  It was tough, but I didn't even lick my fingers after I cut their pieces up.  I know, it sounds silly, but I wanted NO temptations to veer off course.  And even during Day 3 all I could think was that I wanted something bad to eat, but I kept to the plan and began prepping my food for today.
This morning I woke up feeling great and motivated to continue eating well.

Sidenote for the ladies- I did not realize that I chose to do the Refresh just before my monthly cycle and that probably made the three days a little more difficult.  I normally eat everything in sight just before (hello all foods sweet and salty).  And today when I woke up, I was super bloated.  That may or may not have affected my results, but I was happy with the outcome anyway.

So for the RESULTS!!!!  I LOST 4.2 pounds and 3 inches!!!!!!!!
I am SUPER HAPPY with those results in just three days and today, I rolled right into Day 1 of 22 Min Hard Corps.  The plan is to take the program workout/nutrition one day at a time.  The only goal I am focussing on is to complete each day to the best of my ability.

If you need help breaking bad habits and resetting your nutrition, I highly recommend the 3 Day Refresh.  You eat/drink something every hour and that helps take your mind off of worry about your meals/ cravings.  I would love to get you started!  Contact me on Facebook or email me at NicoleZedlitz@gmail.com so we can chat about your goals!

She Ate What??

Paleo, clean eating, raw vegan, grass-fed, no hormones, etc. : We all see the up and coming new philosophies of eating healthy and along with that, you'll see some pretty crazy combinations too.  Today was perusing Pinterest (the death trap of the mind and time), I saw "Chia Pudding?!" What??  I haven't had pudding in FOREVER and now it's a "healthy" thing?! I remembered my boss had mentioned something to me about it a few weeks ago, so I figured I'd check out the recipe and see just how crazy it was.  Well call ME CRAZY because I had all of the ingredients on hand. I mixed it up and a couple hours later, I tried it. It was REALLY GOOD! It will definitely be added to my clean treats!! Here's the recipe:: Chocolate Peanut Butter Chia Pudding 3/4 cup Almond/Coconut milk (you can use your milk of choice here) 3-4 tbsp of chia seeds (I recommend 3 until you decide that you want it thicker) 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp PB2 (if using natural nut butter...

Happy 3rd Blog-aversary!!

It's been three (3) years to the day since I began blogging.  I've taken a LONG break lately as I have had many transitions in my life.  But in the past few weeks, I've been considering sharing more about the next stage of this journey called life with you all. In three short years, I have gone from motivating others to experiencing weight gain and depression.  Being delivered from said depression and fighting to lose the weight.  I'd say sometimes in life, motivation shows up in the difficult times and then sometimes it's no where to be found-- a bit of a roller coaster really. And about a year ago, I was tired.  Tired of not getting enough sleep, tired of the structure and I needed a break.  This break cost me about 20 lbs and goodness has it been tough to get my mind right again.  But I'm experiencing life!!  Enjoying the moment!  And making memories with my family and friends that have been so good for my soul. And in this season, ...

Monday MOMENTUM:: Where should you start??

One of the biggest questions that people have when wanting to get healthy, loose weight or change their lifestyle is normally:: where do I start?? Some like to go cold turkey with a lifestyle change. And sometimes people can keep this up while others will fall back into the same old habits with little chance of recovering.  One thing that I have tried to stick with this year that has been different than my weightloss journey in the past is making small changes. Small changes will add up and before you know it, your lifestyle will be rapidly changing.  This year, it was when I really felt GOOD inside, that I wanted to consistently change my lifestyle. In the beginning, it really is like a detox!!  Think about how much processed food(like) junk you are consuming!!!  You wouldn't put maple syrup in a car and expect it to work like gasoline?!!!  It's  the same thing with our bodies. They weren't/aren't made to be given tons of chemicals that look like food....
