A Week of Rest

Last Monday, I woke up not feeling well and didn't want to speed up the process of getting sick by pushing myself too much physically. Same went for Tuesday. Then I got to thinking, my body hasn't rested for a full week in at least six months. I figured this would help if I was getting sick and keep me from becoming exhausted during a very busy week at work. While I don't regret taking a week off, there are some things I've learned from last week.

1. Routines Keep Me Focused!!
I slept in every day. And when I say "slept in" it may have only been until 6:30 but that's an hour and a half more than my normal routine. So then, I had to get up, get ready and GO. There was no time for focus or vision in my morning. There was no quiet to get my day going or any E&E to give me that extra kick in the morning.

2. Clean Eating: What's That?
No focus, combined with no food prep and a monthly visitor that makes me want to eat for four people made my food choices horrible. I ate out A LOT and whatever I wanted at the time. I enjoyed it and didn't feel guilty at all! However in my mind I was telling myself, "I hope you are enjoying all of this because you won't be able to do this for a while!" The only thing I wanted and didn't have was pasta!!! Like Olive Garden Fettuccine Alfredo!

3. My Business Moved in Reverse.
By now, most of you know that I am a BeachBody Coach. I run fitness challenges online and help others change their lives. It has been an awesome journey so far and I can wait to see what 2015 brings for my business. It is a business and it does have to be worked! With my boys and their age right now, being able to sit down for an hour while they entertain themselves is not an option!!  So I have to work while they are asleep. I fit this in in the mornings mainly. So when I slept in, I was missing the  daily meetings I set for myself. In this past week, I learned that I can't get half the things accomplished in my day if I sleep in that extra hour.
In the book, The Compound Effect, you learn that you are never stagnant! You're either moving forward or you are moving backward. I saw that first hand this week!!

4. Working Out Helps Me to Run My Day
You run the day or the day runs you right?!
Waking up to and pushing to accomplish my goals gives me motivation to see the whole day through a different lense!  It's not just able loosing weight! Goodness, I would have given up three months ago when I hit my plateau if it was about that. Working out is what I do for fun, for excitement, for success, for me!  Waking up early is not easy, but it's worth it to me!

So this week will be the rough week!  The week where I have to get back in the routine of waking up early, getting my sweat on and beginning a new meal plan. This plan is completely clean and I hoping it's realistic enough for me that I will have one cheat a week and hop right back on it.
I'll give y'all a peak into the plan later in the week.

Happy Motivation Monday! Know the sacrifices are worth it! That all the work you put in is worth it!!  And most of the time it's about transforming yourself rather than that number you see on the scale!!

She Ate What??

Paleo, clean eating, raw vegan, grass-fed, no hormones, etc. : We all see the up and coming new philosophies of eating healthy and along with that, you'll see some pretty crazy combinations too.  Today was perusing Pinterest (the death trap of the mind and time), I saw "Chia Pudding?!" What??  I haven't had pudding in FOREVER and now it's a "healthy" thing?! I remembered my boss had mentioned something to me about it a few weeks ago, so I figured I'd check out the recipe and see just how crazy it was.  Well call ME CRAZY because I had all of the ingredients on hand. I mixed it up and a couple hours later, I tried it. It was REALLY GOOD! It will definitely be added to my clean treats!! Here's the recipe:: Chocolate Peanut Butter Chia Pudding 3/4 cup Almond/Coconut milk (you can use your milk of choice here) 3-4 tbsp of chia seeds (I recommend 3 until you decide that you want it thicker) 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp PB2 (if using natural nut butter

Creating Momentum: Day 1 of the 3 Day Quick Fix

So here goes nothing. Yesterday I prepped everything that I'll be eating for the next three days!  It was exciting. And nerve-wrecking all at the same time. I didn't like that I indulged yesterday more than normal just because I knew I would have those things for THREE DAYS!  Really Nicole, come on!!  I know I still have a LOT of mental work to do to help me get to where I want to be. That's why I'm trying out the three day quick fix to see how my body reacts to it and how I mentally handle being on a restrictive diet. During a competition prep, there can be cheat meals and other foods added in to your regime;  however for the 3 Day Quick Fix, protein and veggies rule.  I will be making one modification to the plan because I can't go three days without Shakeology. It's my nutritional supplement and "pick-me-up everyday!" Because it is considered a "red," during meal two I will be drinking my shake in place of the other protein listed along wi

Monday MOMENTUM:: Where should you start??

One of the biggest questions that people have when wanting to get healthy, loose weight or change their lifestyle is normally:: where do I start?? Some like to go cold turkey with a lifestyle change. And sometimes people can keep this up while others will fall back into the same old habits with little chance of recovering.  One thing that I have tried to stick with this year that has been different than my weightloss journey in the past is making small changes. Small changes will add up and before you know it, your lifestyle will be rapidly changing.  This year, it was when I really felt GOOD inside, that I wanted to consistently change my lifestyle. In the beginning, it really is like a detox!!  Think about how much processed food(like) junk you are consuming!!!  You wouldn't put maple syrup in a car and expect it to work like gasoline?!!!  It's  the same thing with our bodies. They weren't/aren't made to be given tons of chemicals that look like food.  Here are some o
